Eco Home Builders was founded in San Diego in 2004 by Marcus Rivera, a third-generation carpenter who grew up working job sites in Chula Vista alongside his father and grandfather. After spending a decade as a lead framer for a large commercial construction firm, Marcus decided to launch his own residential contracting company focused on the quality and transparency he felt was missing from the industry.

Over the past 20-plus years, we've grown from a two-person framing crew to a full-service general contracting operation with 14 in-house employees. We've completed more than 99 permitted projects across San Diego County, from compact bathroom renovations in North Park to full second-story additions in Scripps Ranch. Our 4.8 Google rating across 99 reviews reflects the relationships we build, not just the buildings.

Lead Carpenter and Site Supervisor

Tom has been with Eco Home Builders since 2009. He runs the daily operation on every job site, manages the field crew, and handles quality control from framing through finish carpentry.
